Qiao Baoyun, a professor at Central University of Finance and Economics, said in a recent exclusive interview with China Perspective that during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30), topics regarding the personal income tax system like adjusting the tax threshold are worth deliberation. Those topics also include determining the taxable unit (individual or household), and addressing capital gains such as income from stock trading.
