Linglong enters select group of global tire makers
Shandong Linglong Tyre achieved a breakthrough on Saturday when it produced the first independently developed 59/80R63 Linglong brand giant all-steel radial tire at its factory in Changchun, Jilin province.
The rollout marks Linglong's entry into the select group of global companies capable of producing 63-inch all-steel tires.
With a diameter exceeding four meters and a weight of over six metric tons, it is currently the largest tire product in the world. It is primarily used in complex and variable high-intensity situations by large open-pit mining dump trucks.
As it developed the 59/80R63, Linglong overcame multiple technical challenges. The launch of the tire signifies that the company has broken through the technical barriers long dominated by leading international brands.
The new product can support a maximum load of 100 tons per tire and is compatible with the mainstream large mining dump trucks, Caterpillar 797 and Komatsu 980. It features a versatile tread design that dissipates heat and improves cut resistance and durability, effectively extending the tire's lifespan under extreme conditions.
