Healthcare company J&J to debut range of products at Shanghai expo

Stapler systems that adopt 3D stapling technology to manage tissue complexities, and minimally invasive, temporary devices utilizing realtime intelligence to enhance cardiac recovery — these are just some examples of Johnson & Johnson's wide range of products that will appear at the China International Import Expo in Shanghai in November.

The United States-headquartered healthcare giant will bring more than 100 innovative products and solutions, including over 10 debut products, to the expo.

Specifically, it will showcase precise, personalized treatment plans, and new quality productive forces featuring professional training, local innovative collaboration and smart manufacturing.

"We see the CIIE as a pivotal platform for fostering innovation and collaboration in healthcare, and Johnson & Johnson has grown alongside it — from a debutante to a company with an established presence. We have cumulatively presented over 1,000 innovative products and solutions, featuring hundreds of debut offerings. This sustained effort reaffirms our commitment to supporting the advancement of healthcare in China," said Edward Zhou, president of Johnson & Johnson MedTech China.

China is currently Johnson & Johnson's second-largest market. In May, Johnson & Johnson MedTech China and the Beijing Municipal Health Commission announced a strategic collaboration aimed at expanding access to high-quality care and accelerating the delivery of smarter, more connected healthcare solutions across China.

Formalized through a memorandum of understanding, the agreement aims to establish three innovation and technology hubs in Beijing. Each hub is designed to advance patient-centered solutions, support clinical excellence, and drive the adoption of advanced medical technologies.

In September, Johnson & Johnson MedTech and Ronovo Surgical announced a strategic collaboration to advance the commercialization of surgical technologies in China. In 2024, the company teamed up with Pulse Medical for an advanced solution for atrial fibrillation.

In 2023, Johnson & Johnson cooperated with domestic startup CED Medical, aiming to bring innovative products to the intracranial aneurysm market in China. These products and solutions will also be demonstrated during the upcoming CIIE.

Zhang Xinyuan, a researcher at Co-Found Think Tank, said: "The CIIE not only boosts trade and investment, but also promotes technical communication and industrial upgrade. Through the demonstration of global innovative products and services, the expo has built an efficient cooperation platform for enterprises from home and abroad."

Gao Chengyuan, president and CEO of Guangzhou TY Marketing, said foreign enterprises have transformed from being "sellers" to "ecosystem builders" at the CIIE, by enjoying an enlarged market, technological breakthroughs, and the rights of making rules.
