International student detained for alleged dormitory molestation

A male international student has been placed under criminal detention after allegedly molesting a female student in the women's dormitory at China Three Gorges University in Yichang, Hubei province, according to a notice posted on the university's website on Wednesday.

The notice stated that the man climbed over a wall into the dormitory in the early hours of Sunday and molested a student. The university said he has been expelled.

The notice added that the university will treat the incident as a warning and will strengthen student education, management, and safety measures to protect students' rights and maintain campus order.
