APEC youth in action: from demographic challenge to growth

Across Asia, rapid development has ushered in a new demographic reality—population aging. Recognizing this economic and regional-cooperation challenge, APEC 2025 in Gyeongju put “addressing aging” front and center. China’s youth are translating policy into practice: advancing long-term care and integrated medical-and-elderly care, powering the silver economy, and building age-friendly communities. Through smart eldercare, community innovations, and intergenerational initiatives, they show aging can be a rebalancing—and, with shared effort, a new source of growth.
