A total of 58 products and two design concepts were recognized for their originality, craftsmanship, and cultural resonance at the Beijing Gifts Global Cultural and Creative Competition awards ceremony on Saturday in Beijing.
The award-winning works span multiple categories, including international gifts, ancient capital impressions, sci-tech integration, scenario-based innovations, red-themed creations, and fashion trends.
Organized by several government bodies, including the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau, Beijing Municipal Cultural Heritage Bureau, the competition plays a key role in enhancing the "Beijing Gifts" brand, a gift trademark named after the Chinese capital.
Launched in July, the contest received over 4,400 submissions, from international souvenirs to tech-inspired designs.
Xu Zhentao, deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, states that the Beijing Gifts brand has consistently adhered to the core development philosophy that highlights refined, distinctive, international, and trendy qualities while ensuring products remain culturally rich, unique, quality-assured, and market-oriented.
This launch event not only celebrates the innovative vitality within Beijing's cultural and creative market but also provides an important opportunity to advance the brand's iteration and upgrade, Xu says.
The event also introduced six new Beijing Gifts retail stores, expanding the city's cultural consumption network at major landmarks including Beijing Daxing International Airport and the Mutianyu Great Wall.
Additionally, the Beijing Gifts Innovation White Paper was released, mapping the brand's evolution since its 2011 inception and outlining plans to integrate technology and creative industries to promote sustainable growth.
