L'Oreal China's gala empowers next generation of creators

Co-hosted by L'Oreal China, the Taihu World Cultural Forum, and the Fudan University School of Management, a young talents innovation gala concluded at Fudan University on Monday. Centered on youth creativity, the event featured a debate competition, the closing of a campus charity sale, and the release of a trend report, creating a platform for young people to engage in innovative practices and cultural exchanges.

A lively debate on youth development became a highlight of the gala, with renowned debaters and youth representatives from various fields discussing whether"to live a unique life, is it more important to push yourself hard or cut yourself some slack?" Lan Zhenzhen, chief corporate affairs & engagement officer for L'Oreal North Asia and China, stated: The core purpose of this event is to inspire young people to shine through innovation."She emphasized that there is no one-size-fits-all answer to growth: "The most important standard is not to follow the crowd, but to move in your own direction and become a unique, shining individual."

As a brand initiative dedicated to youth empowerment for over 20 years, the 2025 FUN YOUniverTH campus charity sale also wrapped up at the event. Teams from 14 universities nationwide raised over 3 million yuan($421,971), all of which were donated to the China Youth Development Foundation, showcasing the warmth of youth creativity through public-welfare practice.

The gala also saw the release of the 2025 insight report on young talents trends, which summarized eight key youth trends based on more than 3,000 questionnaires. The report showed that over 60 percent of young people prioritize "non-conformity" as a core value, with innovation emerging as a major driving force in their personal growth.

Lan noted that L'Oreal has consistently supported youth exploration in diverse forms, including "discussion, practice, and presentation."

"We should allow them to unleash their creativity and imagination while setting clear boundaries and bottom lines. We also need to tell them not to fear failure – those with experience will support them, but they should avoid repeating the same mistakes," she asserted.
