Imaging innovations unveiled at sci-tech event

China showcased three major innovations in imaging technology at a sci-tech event hosted by the National Communication Center for Science and Technology in Beijing on Tuesday.

The event introduced advancements that will enhance cinema experiences, live sports broadcasting, and display quality.

China Film Group's CINITY LED cinema system is the world's first LED projection system to receive international certification, according to the company. Compared to traditional projectors, it delivers brighter images and more vibrant colors. The system is already installed in 46 cinemas across China, with 10 additional screens planned in Germany.

Shanghai Media Group's CUBE broadcasting system features a full IP, cloud-based, and modular design that can be flexibly configured like building blocks. Having already served international events, including the Paris Olympics, the sci-tech event showcased its clearer visuals and more authentic sound for sports coverage.

The system has received collaboration invitations from various international sports organizations and event organizers, and is destined to become another crucial tool for SMG's overseas expansion.

BOE's UB Cell display technology focuses on visual comfort, addressing issues like glare and color distortion in bright environments. The new technology maintains consistent colors from every viewing angle while easing eye strain and has been adopted by several leading display brands.

According to officials from the National Radio and Television Administration, China's ultra-high-definition video technology is developing rapidly, with 2025 designated as the "Year of Ultra HD Television". These achievements mark China's transition from following to leading in imaging technology development.
