The doctor optimizes the treatment based on the latest blood pressure readings and updates referral information instantly through a WeChat platform that acts as a direct link between him and the patient.
The platform is part of the city's medical consortium system, which enables two-way patient referrals. It is a medium for local hospitals and community health centers to make service agreements.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), Ningxia implemented policies to develop grassroots healthcare. This platform is one of the outcomes of those efforts.
Shizuishan has focused on addressing difficult access to medical care and the long distances some patients need to travel to receive treatment. As a result, the city has strengthened the diagnostic and treatment capacities of community institutions and elevated the role of family doctors.
