Zhang's device stood as a testament to the depth of Chinese scientific inquiry and social responsibility. Nearly two millennia later, China's spirit of innovation has resonated through the centuries till now — from ancient bronze urns to robotic lunar landers — defining a civilization that has always sought harmony between knowledge, nature and humanity.

China's history is rich with inventions that have shaped the world: papermaking, printing, the compass and gunpowder.
