China-Venezuela relations remain unchanged amid political turmoil: FM spokeswoman

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said on Friday that Beijing attaches great importance to China–Venezuela relations, and no matter how Venezuela's political situation changes, its willingness to deepen practical cooperation across various fields and promote common development remain unchanged.

Her remarks came after it was reported that Delcy Rodriguez, Venezuela's acting president, met with the Chinese ambassador to Venezuela Lan Hu on Thursday.

Mao told a daily news briefing that China has always maintained good communication and cooperation with the Venezuelan government.

China will continue to firmly support Venezuela in safeguarding its sovereignty, national security, and legitimate rights and interests, she added.
