Pegasus fondant artwork ushers in Year of the Horse in Shanghai
"The commercial space provides a public platform for showcasing intangible cultural heritage, allowing ancient crafts to come alive in modern life. These cultural elements add a unique appeal to and create a competitive edge that differentiates the shopping mall from its peers," Zhou added.
"The exhibition is our latest attempt to combine traditional culture with the aesthetic preferences of younger audiences," said Ji Yihao, secretary-general of the Cross-Dimension Laboratory.
According to Ji, anime elements have become more popular among young generations and created special emotional connections in the past few years, allowing the lab to constantly develop tailor-made innovations.
Formally known as "Get Happiness in the New Year, Fill the Spring with Sweetness", the themed exhibition featuring Zhou Yi's fondant artworks will run until March 3 at Shanghai's Super Brand Mall in Lujiazui.
