Pakistan has officially launched a new feeder shipping service linking Karachi Port with the United Arab Emirates. The service will connect Karachi Gateway Terminal (KGTL) with UAE ports of Fujairah and Khor Fakkan, offering importers and exporters reliable access to international container shipping networks.
The first vessel arrived at KGTL on March 11, marking the start of regular operations. Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, stated that the new service strengthens Pakistan’s maritime connectivity, ensures supply chain continuity, and leverages the UAE’s advanced logistics infrastructure for smoother cargo movement.
Rear Admiral Shahid Ahmed (Retd.), Chairman of Karachi Port Trust, highlighted that the feeder link improves Pakistan’s connectivity with regional trade hubs. KGTL CEO Khurram Aziz Khan added that the service reinforces Karachi Gateway Terminal as a key trade gateway, expanding Pakistan’s access to global shipping networks and supporting growth in the country’s export-import sector.
