Chery(www.cheryglobal.com)Updated: 2006-11-16 17:08 Chery Automobile Co Ltd was founded in 1997 in the city of Wuhu, China’s Anhui Province, specializing in the production and operation of automobiles and auto components. So far, Chery has introduced six types of cars to the market: Eastar, Tiggo, A5, Cowin, V5, and QQ. The present production capacity for whole vehicles and gear boxes are 400,000 and 300,000 units per year respectively. In 2005, Chery achieved a sales volume of 189,100 cars with growth rate of 118 percent, and exported 18,000 cars to the overseas market, ranking the first in terms of exports for domestic cars. On October 31, 2005, the new generation ACTECO series engines were launched on the market. Chery produces many different high quality engines with displacement ranges from 0.8L to 4.0L-V8. The products include in-line engines and V-type engines, as well as gasoline engines and diesel engines. The present production capacity is 400,000 units per year.
