The Beijing insurance industry will maintain its leading position nationwide in 2010, with a large increase in premium income, insurance density and penetration.

According to the Beijing municipal government, the development of the insurance industry will focus on four aspects.

The first is to build an agricultural insurance system with the support of the government and participation of farmers.

The second is to develop liability insurance to promote social security and stability of the capital.

The third is to encourage commercial old-age insurance and health insurance businesses. A comprehensive insurance system will be set up for migrant workers. Insurers will seek cooperation with rural areas in medical treatment.
