The China Banking Regulatory Commission has issued a guideline for the development of microcredit in rural areas, another important policy move to improve rural financing after the regulator lowered the threshold for opening rural financial outlets in December.

The guideline made adjustments in regulatory rules on qualified lenders, borrowers, loan usage, credit line and other aspects.
