BEIJING - Chinese equities ended lower on Friday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.46 percent, or 13.75 points, to close at 2,978.83.
The Shenzhen Component Index dropped 0.58 percent, or 77.79 points, to finish at 13,367.24.
Combined turnover rose to 355.5 billion yuan ($53.06) from 334 billion yuan the previous trading day.
Gainers outnumbered losers 489 to 374 in Shanghai and 745 to 340 in Shenzhen.
