China stocks close higher on Friday

BEIJING - China's stocks closed higher Friday as heavy weights pulled the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index 0.81 percent higher to close at 2,888.57, up 23.11 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed up 1.23 percent, or 149.7 points, to end at 12,295.85.
Combined turnover rose to 295.43 billion yuan ($44 billion) from 235.5 billion yuan the previous trading day.
