Lightweight body

The car features cutting-edge lightweight technology already in use on the brand's flagship A8 model. The application of aluminum over large areas of the car body greatly reduces weight and fuel consumption.

The aluminum and steel body is not only lighter, but also safer. The all-new Audi A6L has achieved a five-star E-NCAP (European New Car Assessment Program) score.

It also has a number of active safety functions, including Audi's presense, Active Cruise Control Stop & Go, Audi active lane assist, Audi side assist, night vision assistant and heads-up display. The equipment was previously available only on upper-range models such as the A8 and A7 Sportback.

In addition to advanced technologies, high manufacturing standards and comprehensive tests ensure that the Audi A6L is a reliable choice.

According to Audi, the production line for the all-new A6L at the joint venture is the latest, world-class design from the automaker.

After rolling off the production line, 30 sample cars were sent on road tests across China and Europe. From northern cities as cold as minus 40 C to the southern islands as hot as 40 C, from the rural west during sand storms to remote areas where gasoline quality is poor, every car was tested for more than 100,000 km.

Back in the factory for FAW-Volkswagen in Changchun, special laboratories were set up for the quality control on the all-new Audi A6L.

All the efforts are expected to provide the customers the best product and make the all-new Audi A6L a benchmark in its segment, the company said.
