Internet tycoons have been active with promotions for the upcoming Single's Day on Nov 11 when millions of young Chinese would shop online for treats.

The festival generated record sales of 57.1 billion yuan ($9 billion) for Alibaba during last year's 24-hour shopping spree, according to the e-commerce behemoth.

Among promotions, celebrities and Internet CEOs seem a natural match to attract flashlights.
