"Silk Road Talk" initiated a new era after 2000 years

Mr. Zhao Jiandong, Secretary General of CCPIT-Shanghai said, "China and Iran are countries with an ancient civilization on the Silk Road. On the basis of "The Belt and Road" to carry out mutual cooperation and infrastructure development, improve the level of interconnection and networking will provide strong power to promote and deepen the Sino-Iran relationship. In future we will further strengthen the policy of communication, trade flow, road connection, currency movements, by doing so surely it will further promote the friendship and communication between people. There are also quite a number of economic and trade exchanges between Shanghai and Iran. Last year our bilateral trade amounted to $1.421 billion. Iran has 129 FDI projects in Shanghai and vice versa Shanghai also has quite a number of enterprises invested in Iran, the investment and trade exchanges between the two sides has entered a new stage."

Mr. Cao Lei, Director of Investment Promotion Division, Shanghai Pudong New Area Commission of Commerce Shanghai in the seminar mentioned that Pudong participated in "The Belt and Road" strategy, as it has advantages richly endowed by the nature of Pudong. Geographically, it is the eastern border city along the "Silk Road Economic Belt", and it is also the city where the region of "21st Century Maritime Silk Road" starts, which belongs to the "Belt" and "Road", it is at the intersection of "inland and coastal", with "the strategic position of uniting China inside and outside", meanwhile Pudong has an international airport and an international port which laid a solid foundation for Pudong to participate in the service and the "The Belt and Road" strategy. Currently, for Pudong to participate in the "The Belt and Road" building it has two important strategic pivots: The first is the construction of the Chinese pilot free trade zone; the second is the construction of a global influence innovation center. The Pudong government will perform the 2 strategies from 8 aspects, and actively participate in "The Belt and Road Initiative".

1. Improve the "go global" service mechanism strategy.

2. Optimize international trade with a "single window" function.

3. Promote the main trade level.

4. Promote the new types of trade development.

5. Innovation of science and technology investment and financing system.

6. Establish and improve the scientific and technological achievements and the protection mechanism.

7. Enhance the convenience of cross-border investment and facilitate financing.

8. Provide positive incentives, encourage enterprises to grow bigger and stronger.
