Watches inspired by the moon

Swiss watchmaker since 1738, Jaquet Droz recently opened a boutique in Shanghai. The special thing about its Perpetual Calendar Eclipse watch is a black onyx index moving across the face of a golden moon on the dial, indicating its phase during the month.

Square and balanced

The Vintage 1945 Large Date, Moon-Phases timepiece is by watchmaker Girard-Perregaux. Two frameworks for the moon phases are placed on the opposite sides of the dial at 12 and 6 o'clock, delivering a balanced style of the square watch.

Alluring and luxurious

The Gouverneur watch from Piaget features a tourbillon ultra-thin mechanical movement, with a moon-phase indicator. It also has a case in 18-carat white gold, decorated with 128 diamonds.
