7. Ning Caishen - Arrested for possession and use of methamphetamine in Beijing on June 24, 2014.

In June, Beijing police detained screenwriter and novelist Chen Wanning, whose pen name is Ning Caishen, for possession and use of methamphetamine in an apartment in Beijing. Chen confessed that he had been taking drugs since December 2013.

Chen is regarded as one of the more prominent Chinese online writers. He became popular after one of the comedy dramas that he wrote was made into a movie in 2006.
