Son's single status sparks divorce call

A woman in Qidong, Jiangsu Province, has recently asked to divorce her husband after her son refused to marry her stepdaughter.

Yuan said that she married Lu eight years ago because Lu promised to let his daughter marry Yuan's son. However, Lu's daughter refused to marry her son. Feeling that she had been cheated, Yuan was regretful about the marriage and unwilling to live with Lu any longer.

The court refused to support Yuan's appeal for a divorce as she failed to provide evidence that the couple no longer loved each other.
