The local government would provide favorable commercial environment, create effective stimulation mechanism and promote public awareness in a bid to cultivate the growth of its brands, said Liu Hui, Vice-Chairman of the government of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

The big brand names would in return promote the competitive edge of the region both at home and abroad and help the region to obtain a sustainable and healthy development, Liu added during a ceremony to kick off the Yinchuan activities of the "Brand Promotion Tour" sponsored by China's Commerce Ministry.

Jiang Zengwei, Vice Commerce Minister said that establishing home-grown influential brand names are an inevitable part in the implementation of the scientific development concept and in building an innovative country.

Jiang spoke highly of Ningxia regional government's efforts in fostering regional brands and hoped it can continue their efforts in stepping up creation and promotion of its brands, to cultivate a series of national and global brands.

A team of Chinese commerce officials, volunteers and journalists from across the country are in Yinchuan to take part in the event.

The delegation is scheduled to visit a number of famed companies, factories, as well as shops or other commercial units.
