As an American, I can only say that I wish we punished severe economic crimes with the death penalty like China does. Here, if you murder someone, you may eventualy - after 10+ years of appeals - be executed. On the other hand, devastate the finances of thousands of senior citizens, or take bribes to allow an unsafe automobile on the market, and you MIGHT go to a minimum security "club fed" prison for 6 to 18 months...only to be let loose to prey upon society again.

Of course, if America adopted the Chinese method of fighting corruption, the first group we would have to arrest, try, convict, and then execute would be the 535 US Senators and Representatives, followed by the current President and Vice-President! The CEO's of Wall Street would be next...
