BEIJING, May 18 – SINA announced today the launch of an English special report on Sichuan earthquake on its WAP site. The special report offers round-the-clock coverage on the quake relief efforts and current situations in Sichuan and other quake-affected areas.

This special report means a new development following the successful launch of SINA's English website (english.sina.com) on May 16, 2008. The English special report on SINA WAP will work together with the Internet-based SINA English to provide our worldwide users with the latest and fullest coverage of Sichuan earthquake, so that SINA users will be instantly informed of the most up-to-date progress regarding the southwest China region.

According to sources with SINA, SINA WAP will use the experience gained from the English quake reporting in the coming Olympics in August to launch a large-scale Olympic English coverage.
