Zheng Wantong

Male, born in May 1941, of Han nationality, native of Tianjin Municipality.

Vice-chairman of the 11th CPPCC National Committee and member of its Leading Party Members' Group.

Joined in the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 1960.

Studied at Chinese Language Department of Tianjin Normal University in 1959-1961 and graduated in 1961.

Teacher and secretary at the human resource office of the No. 78 Middle School of Tianjin in 1961-1965.

Director of the school affairs department of Communist Youth League of China (CYLC) Hebei district committee in Tianjin in 1965-1968.

Worked at the May 7 Cadre School of Hebei district of Tianjin in 1968-1970.

Cadre and deputy director of the publicity department of CPC Hebei district committee in Tianjin in 1970-1978.

Cadre of the general office of CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee and assistant to the first secretary of the CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee in 1978-1982.

Director of the general office of CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee in 1982-1983.

Secretary-general of CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee and Secretary of Party committee of departments under the CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee in 1983-1988.
