No jail for man who raped his ex-wife

Updated: 2009-07-18 09:23 A man was sentenced to three years in jail with a four-year reprieve for raping his ex-wife hours after a divorce. On April 13, the couple got a divorce, and the two together returned to their Morin Dawa home in Inner Mongolia where the woman wanted to gather her belongings, and was raped by her ex-husband. A court concluded that the man was guilty of rape but showed leniency "since he had confessed to the police". (Inner Mongolia Daily) |
