College student tries helping drunk, detained

Updated: 2009-10-19 08:54 A college student was detained on suspicion of hurting a drunk man when all he tried to do was help him up from a street in Chongqing municipality on Tuesday. According to an eyewitness, a middle-aged man, who had clearly had too many drinks, fell down on the street when a college student walking by tried to help him up. The heavily intoxicated man got hold of the boy and started screaming for help, saying he had pushed him. Police arrived on the scene and detained the boy, who was released hours later after investigations confirmed he was only trying to help. (Chongqing Times) |
