Broadcaster meeting held for Asian Games

GUANGZHOU, South China - Organizers of the 16th Asian Games are hosting a two-day world broadcaster meeting in which nearly 100 representatives of leading TV producers throughout Asia are currently in attendance.?
During?the conference, TV producers attending represent billions of viewers including CCTV (China), KBS (South Korea), Doordarshan (India) and NHK (Japan).
"This is the very first time that I've been to Guangzhou and we have been impressed with the facilities that the Chinese organizers have created," said E.S. Isaac, Director of Sports, Doordarshan.
He added that his network - based in new Delhi - which will be giving significant coverage to Cricket which is debuting as a medal sport at the 16th Asian Games, plans to send 70 TV producers, technicians and announcers.
More than 2,500 hours of live programing will be produced by the Guangzhou Asian Games Broadcasting Co., Ltd (GAB) for distribution to TV companies from across Asia and around the world, the Guangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee said.
The Asian Games, which is held every four years, will take place in Guangzhou from November 12 to 27, 2010. More than 14,000 athletes, trainers and coaches from 45 countries and regions are expected to compete in 42 sports.
