Deputy blames easy procedure for high divorce rate

Hei Xinwen, a deputy to the National People's Congress (NPC), said the level of difficulty for divorce should be enhanced to prevent impulsive divorces occurring among young couples.

Hei?blames the?simple divorce proceeding at present is one of the reasons?why the divorce rate is rising. She proposed to amend the Regulations on Marriage Registration to include a stipulation that the couple show the mediation papers from both parties' work units.
