Agriculture Carnival in Beijing

The Agriculture Carnival will be held in Strawberry Expo Park in Changping district, Beijing, from March 23 to May 12.

The carnival will host wonderful activities, including an opening ceremony and music festival.

Opening ceremony

There will be performances to welcome the first Beijing Agriculture Carnival. Government officials, media representatives and tourists will attend.

Focused on agriculture, the ceremony aims to be a grand banquet to integrate, innovate and entertain guests.

Photography competition

Themed "Agriculture Carnival in My Eyes", the photography competition is organized by the Photographers Association of Changping district. It will collect photos to record wonderful moments from the carnival. Participants can submit their work from March 23 to April 20.

Agricultural products fair

Date: March 23 – May 12

Venue: Agricultural Exhibition Hall

High-quality and well-known agricultural products all around the country will be sold at the fair. There will be shopping festivals and fun auctions to satisfy citizens' need for high-quality agricultural products.

There are about 60 companies in the hall, including Bainian Liyuan and Shunxin Agriculture Company. The agricultural products on exhibition include special vegetables, organic strawberries and eggs.

Distinctive agricultural products from local Beijing

Date: March 23 - May 12

Venue: P6, parking lot in the east area of Strawberry Expo Park

There will be several temporary tents selling distinctive agricultural products from Beijing, creating a shopping street for everyone to learn more about agricultural development in Beijing.

There are about 60 stalls in the shopping street, including Beijing Shunxin Agriculture Company and Beijing Er Shang Group. Consumers can buy fruit, vegetables and cereal there.

Strawberry dance and music festival

Date: March 24 - 26

Venue: P7, parking lot in the east area of Strawberry Expo Park

A sweet and fashionable Strawberry Dance and Music Festival will welcome well-known musicians and Internet superstars with wonderful games and activities that everyone can enjoy.

Pop stars, famous dance teams, and musicians will be invited to give performances.

Best strawberry competition

Date: March 29 - 30

Venue: Center Square in east Strawberry Expo Park

High quality strawberries will be judged and awarded by agricultural experts and participants.

Youth carnival

Date: March 26 – May 10

Venue: Strawberry Technology Exhibition Hall

Themed "Colorful Youth, Flourishing Agriculture", the youth carnival will welcome middle and primary school students. Teenage journalists will experience activities and interview guests to enhance their understanding of agriculture technology and culture.

Focusing on "experiencing, participating, playing and studying", the carnival will offer courses and books for primary students. Organizers will print plans from the Beijing Agricultural Carnival and provide it to schools to help children learn more about agriculture.

Strawberry technology exhibition

Date: March 23 - May 12

Venue: Strawberry Technology Exhibition Hall

The technology exhibition will display strawberries from Changping district to show its technological and industrial strength.

Creative agriculture experience activity

Date: March 23 - May 12

Venue: Every hall of Strawberry Expo Park

Activities -- like a vegetable forest, happy farm and tomato maze -- will highlight the creativity and versatility of agriculture. Tourists can not only visit the park, but also enjoy the interactions inside.

Agricultural carnival

Date: March 23 - May 12

There will be games, like corsairs and a merry-go-round, at the carnival. A children's park, 5D cinema, and toy and food streets will be open to visitors. In addition, some interesting activities such as the video game“Plants vs Zombies”， will entertain visitors.

Picking festival

Date: March 23 - May 12

During the Agriculture Carnival, a strawberry exhibition and strawberry greenhouses will be available to the public to attract people to pick strawberries.
