Beijing landmarks safe in Transformers 4

Recent Internet reports that a location agreement for Transformers 4 includes the destruction of Beijing landmarks are completely unfounded, according to Marc Ganis, president of Jiaflix Enterprises, which negotiated the agreement with Pangu Plaza and Paramount Pictures.

Ganis said Sunday the contract does not include any storyline related matters.

"There is nothing in the (Pangu Plaza) agreement that relates to any other facilities or the Transformers 4 storyline," he said.

"Pangu Plaza is an extraordinary and iconic building that will make a memorable visual in the movie, especially set against the beautiful National Stadium, National Aquatic Center and Olympic Green that invited the world to Beijing in 2008. How this unique building is presented will be entirely up to director Michael Bay and his team."

The agreement was signed on June 18 at this year's Shanghai International Film Festival. Representatives from Paramount Pictures, Jiaflix Enterprises and Beijing Pangu Investment announced the deal.

Another Internet rumor that Pangu Plaza is investing in Transformers 4 is also false, said Ganis.

Production on Transformers 4 has already begun in the United States.

The film will include scenes shot in a number of locations in China. It is scheduled for release in the United States on June 27, 2014. The Chinese release date has not yet been determined.

Pangu Plaza is a compound nearby the 2008 Beijing Olympic venues, containing offices, a seven-star hotel, conference rooms and apartments.
