Shenzhou-X's reentry module delivered to designers

BEIJING - The reentry module of China's Shenzhou-X spacecraft was handed over to its designers in Beijing on Thursday for further study.

Scientists at the China Academy of Space Technology will conduct a thorough examination of the module.

Carrying the three crew members of China's Shenzhou-X mission, the reentry module parachuted to a landing site in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region at 8:07 am Wednesday.

The reentry module is the part of a spacecraft that returns to Earth after a space flight. In addition to the reentry module, China's Shenzhou-X spacecraft contains a service module and an orbital module.

The Shenzhou-X mission was China's longest manned space mission. In its 15-day journey in space, the Shenzhou-X docked with the orbiting space lab Tiangong-1 twice, once through automatic operation and the other manually.

A highlight of the mission was a lecture that female astronaut Wang Yaping delivered to students on Earth from the Tiangong-1.
