The Nanjing Party commission of discipline inspection has urged the city's Luhe district bureau of communications to dismiss the director of the bureau's shipping management section after Long was investigated for using public funds to visit Las Vegas in December 2012, China News Service reported.
Long has admitted he visited Las Vegas when on a study group from Nanjing to the United States. Las Vegas was not a destination on the group's US tour.
Long has been suspended from his post and was required to repay the expense he incurred visiting Las Vegas after his case was exposed on Feb 23. Long's former wife reported him to the relevant departments.
The city's anti-graft body has also circulated a notice of criticism of the city's association of water transportation, which organized the overseas trip.
