College graduates from 2014 earn an average of 3,478 yuan (about $560) a month after working for half a year while, in general, a college education raises income long-term, a report has revealed.

Accordingly, 61 percent of college students who graduated last year are satisfied with their current jobs. Also, 46 percent say their jobs match their expectations.

After working for half a year, the average monthly income for 2014 graduates is 3,487 yuan, which is an increase from 3,250 yuan in 2013 and 3,048 yuan in 2012. In addition, those from regular colleges have a higher average income (3773 yuan) than vocational college graduates (3200 yuan).

After three years of working, the average monthly income for 2011 graduates is 5,484 yuan, which is an increase of 98 percent on their incomes following graduation. Comparatively, the income rise of regular urban residents for the same time period is 17.4 percent. It is interpreted that college education facilitates a considerable long-term income advantage.

The report is called the Blue Book of Employment: Chinese College Graduates' Employment Annual Report (2015), with education analyst company Mycos having surveyed graduates from 2014 and 2011 during compilation.

High-income professions include Internet development and application, computer data management, media and communications, as well as finance. Primary and middle school educations yield two of the lowest incomes, it was added.
