Foreign journalists and diplomats said China's two sessions are getting increasingly transparent and open, Xinhua reported Thursday.

There are over 1,000 overseas journalists reporting on China's two sessions this year. An official with the two sessions' news center said a special forum was held to listen to foreign reporters' advice ahead of the start of the meetings.

Xu Jingbo, head of Japan's Asia News Agency, who this year is reporting on China's two secessions for the 18th time, said the transparency and openness have experienced some "fundamental change."

Most group discussions are already open to foreign reporters, he said, noting that the news center would also help them contact a specific delegate they want to interview.

China's economy, especially its GDP growth, tops the list of foreign journalists' focus.

A reporter with Voice of America told Xinhua they also are interested in topics of anti-corruption and environmental protection.

China's two sessions also draw attention from foreign ambassadors in Beijing.

Kuwaiti Ambassador to China Mohammad Saleh Al-Thuwaikh said issues of anti-corruption and environmental protection are what he cares about in the two sessions. He said China has done a lot of work against corruption.

Mexican Ambassador to China Julian Ventura said he wants to find out if more specific reform measures and plans will be approved in China's two sessions this year.
