Walk along the Monastery and the largest group of terraced multi-color ponds will come towards your eyes. Those colorful ponds, dotted like a broken pearl necklace, are linked by simple wooden bridges.

A careful observation shows that many plants, such as azaleas and willows, grow by the colored ponds in Huanglong. The branches of these plants have long been immersed in the water. As a result, the water is covered by travertine and algae. The minerals in the travertine and algae combine to make the water appear even richer in color.

The crystal clear water from the ponds show very slight differences in shade, from yellow and green, to gold, to even sky blue ...

High up on the mountain, you can enjoy the panoramic views of Huanglong Valley on a special viewing platform. From that location, you will understand why this place had entered China's "World Cultural and Natural Heritage List" as early as in 1992. And on that platform, you will know what a precious gift that the nature has endowed us.
