Spending breakdown will come out soon

SHANGHAI: Local residents will soon get a detailed breakdown of how the more-than 2.5 billion yuan ($366 million) they donated to Sichuan earthquake disaster relief charities is being used on the ground.
A Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau spokesperson said the information will be fed into the regular administrative transparency program in the near future and made available online.
The move is in response to a request from Shanghai legislator Hou Gang for more transparency in how the donated money is being spent.
