Defuse tensions with Iran

WITH ITS SUGGESTION THAT IRAN WANTS NUCLEAR weapons capability, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) report, released on Tuesday, is likely to lead to an escalation of tensions between the West and Iran.

Although Teheran condemned the findings as false and baseless, the United States signaled it will impose more sanctions on Iran.

The agency listed a series of research, development and testing activities applicable to developing nuclear weapons, such as high explosives testing and the development of an atomic bomb trigger.
