Hainan has proven itself a good host for State-level events after a series of important high-profile activities were held in the province.

The world's attention was drawn to the island province early this month when President Xi Jinping hosted top leaders from six countries in Sanya, the scenic tourism hotspot at the southern end of the island.

Both the level and scale of the receptions were unprecedented for the resort city.
