Li's visit to Peru seen as a 'very important' opportunity

China-Peru relations are moving toward a new model of broad and extensive cooperation, and the upcoming visit of Premier Li Keqiang is expected to further strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership, a Chinese diplomat said.

Li's visit, part of a four-nation Latin America tour, "is very important for the development of our bilateral ties", Chinese Ambassador to Peru Huang Minhui said.

Li is the first Chinese head of government to visit Peru in 20 years, and both countries attach great importance to the trip, Huang said.
