Li Jinyong: Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Professor Li Jinyong attended important meetings, including the National Science Conference and the National Congress of China Association for Science and Technology. He has repeatedly been interviewed by the Party and state leaders since 1978.

In 1991, Professor Li Jinyong was nominated as the instructor of the work to exchange the academic experience among the first veteran practitioners of TCM, and he was among the first to win the special allowance awarded by the State Council in the same year. In 1999, he was named one of the top 10 “Role Models of Traditional Chinese Medicine” and in 2002, he received the Highest Award for the Academic Achievement in TCM. In 2004, he was appointed as a member of the Experts Guiding Committee, which was set to study the cultivation of the clinical talents in TCM. In 2006, he won the Special Achievement Award for his contribution to TCM inheritance. In 2011, he was recognized as the expert in the construction project of the inheritance studio for the famous and veteran TCM practitioners and in 2013, he was recognized as the co-tutor of the first TCM inheritance post-doctorates.

Professor Li has successively held the following posts: member of the fourth Hubei Provincial Committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (HPCCPPCC), standing committee member and vice director of the committee of education, science, culture, health and sports of the fifth, sixth and seventh HPCCPPCC ; member of the second committee of Hubei Association of Science and Technology (HAST), member of the third, fourth standing committee of HAST; vice chairman of the first council of Hubei Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine (HATCM), chairman of the second and third council of HATCM; vice chairman of the second and third council of Hubei Association of Senior Scientific and Technical Personnel.

Professor Li has concurrently held the following posts: review committee member of significant scientific and technological achievements in TCM for Ministry of Health and State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, member of the editorial board of Chinese Herbal Medicine, consultant to the editorial board of Chinese Encyclopedia (Volume of Traditional Medicine), member of the editorial board of college medical textbooks, member of Chinese medicine theory compiling committee of State Association of Chinese Medicine, member of Chinese medical books compiling committee of People’s Medical Publishing House, expert committee member of the Chinese Medical Resources of Ministry of Health and State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, visiting professor and chief honorary researcher at the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, tenured member of the council of China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, member of the editorial board of Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and honorary chairman of the Li Shizhen Academy.
