Haihunhou cemetery artifacts preserved in laboratory

The Haihunhou cemetery, dating back to the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC- 25 AD), covers some 40,000 square meters with eight tombs and a chariot burial site.

Archeologists suspect that the main tomb is that of Liu He, grandson of Emperor Wu, the greatest ruler of the Han Dynasty, one of the most prosperous periods in China's history. The excavation may last for years.

Artifacts found at the cemetery are preserved at a laboratory in Nanchang of East China’s Jiangxi province for further study.
