The Worldwide Olympic Partner Atos Origin and the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) launched the IT Integration Test Lab for Beijing 2008 Olympic Games on Friday, marking the IT system's shift from the design and planning to infrastructure construction and test stage.

At the launch ceremony, BOCOG executive vice-president Wang Wei and Atos Origin vice-president for Olympic Games and Major Events Patrick Adiba unveiled the lab plate and visited the facility together with representatives of Beijing Games partners and sponsors such as Kodak, Lenovo, OMEGA, Panasonic, SAMSUNG, CNC, CHINA　MOBILE and SOHU.

Located inside the Beijing Olympic Tower and with an area of 800 square meters, the lab was designed jointly by Atos Origin and BOCOG and built in conformity with international standards. Among others, the Games Management System (GMS) developed by Atos Origin, is responsible for supporting accreditation, transport, medical service and human resources management, while the Information Diffusion System (IDS) can convey Games-time data such as results, athletes and weather information to officials, sponsors, media and members of the Olympic Family. The GMS and IDS have already been delivered for tests.

The lab launch marked the orderly construction of the IT system for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and the efficient cooperation between BOCOG, Atos Origin and other technology partners, said Yang Yichun, vice-director of BOCOG Technology Department

Mr. Adiba said his company will make full use of its experience and skills in supporting major events for over 20 years and provide the most excellent IT solutions to Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
