MJ doctor Conrad Murray back in court

Dr. Conrad Murray has returned to court to try and prove Michael Jackson caused his own death.

The medic is currently serving four years for the involuntary manslaughter of the 'Thriller' singer - who died while in his care in June 2009 of acute Propofol intoxication - but has asked for evidence excluded from his trial to be seen by court, in an attempt to reduce the amount of cash he has been ordered to pay Michael's family.

Dr. Murray cannot, due to his conviction, claim he had no responsibilty for Michael's death, but still wants to argue Michael self-administered a fatal dose of Propofol. His lawyers think if they can prove this, the amount of restitution money Dr. Murray should pay would also be reduced.

Prosecutors claim the disgraced doctor should pay $100 million to Michael's children - Prince Michael, 14, Paris, 13, and nine-year-old Prince Michael II, nicknamed 'Blanket' - equivalent to what he was expected to earn from his 'This is It' shows, scheduled to start at London's The 02 days after he was found dead aged 50 and to cover funeral and memorial service expenses.

Deputy District Attorney David Waigren told the Los Angeles court that Jackson's children are "entitled to wages or profits lost due to injury incurred by the victim".

Dr. Murray's lawyer, J. Michael Flanagan, is hoping to halve this amount.

A judge will decide how much restitution is required. The appeal continues.
