Brand development forum held in Wuhan

A forum on Central China's emergence and Wuhan brand development was held at
Yangtze Hotel in Wuhan on July 31 as a part of the ongoing Brand Promotion tour
initiated by the Ministry of Commerce.
Professor Huang Zhaoyin from Wuhan University and Chief Engineer Xia Yamin
from the Administrative Committee of Wuhan East Lake High Technology Development
Zone gave speeches on the forum. Officials from the ministry and local
government also attended the forum.

The topic of Professor Huang's speech is "Discussion on brand strategy of
development of new- and high-tech industry in China". The new- and high-tech
industry has decisive influence on comprehensive strength and competitiveness
for a country or a region. The brand strategy of the industry has become one of
the most important competitiveness strategies, said Huang.
The development of China's new- and high-tech industry should focus on
regional brand, corporation brand and product brand and implement a brand
strategy integrated the said three brand strategies, he added.
Huang cited "Wuhan Optics Valley of China" as an example in his speech. As
national photoelectron information industry base, Wuhan East Lake High
Technology Development Zone – optics valley of China – has formed an industrial
structure of photoelectron information industry as dominant industry with
combined development of bioengineering and new pharmaceuticals, energy and
environmental protection, new materials, integration of machinery and
electronics and high-tech agriculture.
