Property stocks lift HK shares to record close(Reuters)Updated: 2007-05-04 16:03 Hong Kong blue chips rose 0.8 percent to a record closing high on Friday, as property stocks rallied further before next week's land auction. China plays had their best one-day percentage gain in two months as PetroChina Co. Ltd. surged 14 percent on a major oil discovery. The benchmark Hang Seng Index ended at 20,841.08. The China Enterprises index of H-shares, or Hong Kong-listed shares in mainland companies, jumped 2.5 percent. |
