Lenovo, a Worldwide Partner (TOP) of the International Olympic Committee, a Worldwide Presenting Partner of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Torch Relay, and also the designer of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch, recently delivered its fourth shipment of massive computing equipment to the Beijing Organizing Committee of the Games for the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG).

To date, Lenovo has delivered about 30,000 pieces of servers, desktop computers, notebook computers, printers and other IT devices to BOCOG, successfully fulfilling its commitment of providing computing equipment for the Beijing Olympic Games.

As the IT infrastructure provider for the upcoming Beijing Olympic Games, Lenovo has proactively been providing comprehensive support through its planning and deployment of products, services, operations and supporting systems. All of these equipment and services have been thoroughly tested and optimized at the "Good Luck Beijing" testing events prior to the Games, a rehearsal in which sporting events were held to thoroughly test all devices and services planned for the actual Games.

Lenovo is also a Worldwide Presenting Partner of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Torch Relay and the designer of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch.

Greenpeace ranked Lenovo number one in its most environmental friendly electronics manufacturer list published in the "2007 Green Electronics Guide."

Among the IT products delivered for the Olympic Games, the Kai Tian M5250 commercial desktop computer sets a new environmental standard for green PCs. It not only has an improved ventilation design to reduce the PC internal temperature to about 35 degrees centigrade, but also decreases the standby power consumption to less than 4W, much lower than the national standard of 10W, or 60% less than that of its non-energy-efficient counterparts in terms of power consumption. In addition, the its noise is lowered to less than 30 decibels, far lower than the 50 decibels stipulated by China's noise standards.

The Kai Tian M5250 uses the brand new AMD computing platform, which lowers power consumption by 30% compared with previous generations.

According to lab testing, 2000 units of Lenovo Kai Tian M5250 computers could save approximately 390,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity from January to September 2008 for the Beijing Olympic Games, an equivalent to a budget reduction of over 400,000 yuan (US$57,000).

It is also proved that after the successful integration with ATI, AMD's platform for commercial applications is stable, reliable and secure, fast, while also offering better performance and energy efficiency, meeting the needs of high-end commercial applications.

The superb performance of the computing devices provided by Lenovo has been recognized by BOCOG's designated system integrators.
